Duration: 4 Hour(s) Language: English
This New Miner & Newly Hired Experienced Miner course will provide a general overview of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)’s surface mining regulations under Part 46.
To begin work at a surface mine, new miners (and newly hired experienced miners) need 24 hours of Part 46 New Miner Training. Four of those hours must be completed before you can begin work at all.
In this course, you’ll get a foundation of knowledge in the different kinds of hazards you will face in a surface mine, how to protect yourself from them, and how MSHA standards protect your right to a safe working environment. You’ll learn about safety controls for the transportation of people and materials on a mine site, safety practices for machinery and equipment maintenance, major electrical hazards, and the many explosive hazard considerations you need to understand as a miner.
This course is offered in partnership with Compliance Training Onlineâ„¢, a 360trainingâ„¢ company.
